Baby and Mommy at Monarch International
Monarch’s Baby and Mommy class has been designed to give babies their first exposure to English in a fun, friendly and safe environment. All songs, games and activities are focused on the child’s acquisition and development of new skills whilst strengtheningthe bond between mother and baby.
Our classes Mondays and Fridays, are designed to stimulate the love of learning and increase self confidence within each child. The classes also aim to teach parents how to interact with their baby in English so that even outside the classroom mothers and fathers can incorporate the songs and play activities into their own home routines.
During Morning Circle we use TPR (Total Physical Response) activities and add actions and movement to all of our English songs and rhymes. This not only enhances coordination and perception skills, but is also a fun and active way for both baby and Mommy to enjoy English.
Craft Time allows mother and child to work together to make fantastic artwork which will become part of the baby’s personal portfolio to be used as a way of tracking their developmental progress. Parents can take the artwork home to keep as a wonderful memory of their child’s early years. The crafts are all related to a monthly theme and are geared
towards exposing children to a wide range of fun and interesting sensory activities which will in turn enhance their sensory-motor learning and nurture their creative abilities.
Games Time consists of both group games and individual mother & child activities. The time allows children to express themselves through action and sound and encourages movement and the development of physical skills.
Free-Play Time gives children a chance to try out and explore various learning toys and objects, improving their problem solving and numeracy skills, and also building upon their knowledge and understanding of their environment and the world. It is also the perfect opportunity for babies to interact with other children their age, allowing them to gain
personal, social and emotional skills which are essential to their development.
During Story Time we read a variety of classic and new children’s books. We use both sensory soft books and hand puppet stories to fully engage the babies and keep the time as fun and interactive as possible.
